Treatment for Alcohol and Depression – Leszek Gawronski

Trust. Gratitude. Self-assuredness.
We try to offer as much information as possible to the people who seek us, because we understand that trusting your well-being to others is not an easy decision to make. For this reason, we have strived for an open and transparent intake and admission process and answer all the questions that are made.
Yet, there is nothing like hearing from someone who has taken the same journey. Someone who may have felt exactly the same doubts, the same fears and hopes.
The first ambassadors of VillaRamadas – men and women who have not only successfully completed treatment with us but have gone on to live the lives we had wished for them – have generously open their hearts and shared part of their experience so that others may feel more secure when starting on the same path they have already walked.
Below we leave you the story of Leszek Gawronski.
Lista de Conteúdos
1. LESZEK GAWRONSKI
Leszek completed two consecutive treatments with VillaRamadas for an addiction to alcohol and a depression. Like many of our patients, he went through difficulty losses that changed the role alcohol played in his life, from a simple beverage one takes with a meal or shares with friend to a strategy to cope with negative thoughts and emotions. His story is the story of many, most of whom never have the courage to seek help and the strength to change their lives. Next week Leszek is one year sober; he laughs easily and is looking forward to the future. We could not be more proud.
2. ALCOHOL & DEPRESSION
Alcohol abuse and depressive complaints appear often together. Sometimes people start abusing alcohol as a way to deal with their depressive symptoms (negative mood, feelings of worthlessness), other times depression develops as the alcohol abuse starts to bring negative consequences to their life (e.g., loss of a relationship). It may also be the case that both the depressive symptomatology and the alcohol abuse are triggered by the same negative life event (e.g., death of a loved one, loss of a job). Whatever their connection, it is always essential to address both to ensure a true recovery and reduce the possibility of relapse.
